Rebellious soul, often misunderstood, envied and admired at the same time by his fellow citizens. Michelangelo Buonarroti was condemned to loneliness for life which forced him to express himself in his own way, establishing himself as an absolute and unsurpassed genius both in sculpture and in painting.
"To which work you never think of sculptor or creator, rarely being able to add design, or grace, or with difficulty never being able to finiteness, cleanliness and to pierce the marble as much with art, as Michele Agnolo did there, because the value and power of art can be seen in everything. " Giorgio Vasari had thus described one of the artist's most beautiful works, La Pietà.
